- RVs Connected (the "Service") is a non-commercial service to allow RVs (Returned Volunteers) and other interested parties to contact each other and share information. VSO reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the Service at any time within its absolute discretion.
- Although the Service is designed primarily for the use of RVs, it is also open to other interested parties, such as serving, or prospective volunteers. Due to the nature of the internet we cannot guarantee that an individual using the Service is who they claim to be.
- The only contact information required to register with the Service is your e-mail address. VSO will not use this to contact you, unless you have previously provided your consent for other purposes (see paragraph 4 for exceptions).
- Important exception to paragraph 3
From September 2004 full membership of RVs Connected became free. If you elected to become a full member of the Service prior to this date, however, (by making a minimum annual donation of £5), you will also have been asked for additional contact details. As a full member prior to September 2004, your contact details will have been stored on VSO's Fundraising database, and we may from time-to-time contact you with news updates and fundraising appeals. You do have the option not to receive further information from VSO and we will not release your contact details to other organisations, unless we have your specific permision to do so, in line with the 1998 Data Protection Act. If you do not wish to receive future appeals from VSO please contact fundraising@vso.org.uk.
- If you decide to register with the Service your e-mail address will not be displayed on the website. Other members of the Service will be able to contact you through an anonymous e-mail link. Replying to e-mails from other Service users will result in your e-mail address being revealed to them, and this is your responsibility. VSO does not monitor or pre-screen the content of e-mails and is not responsible for the behaviour of RVs using the Service. You acknowledge that use of the Service is at your own risk and agree that VSO will have no liability for any loss or damage incurred by you arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service except to the extent that such liability cannot be excluded by law.
- You agree not to use the Service or contact details obtained through the Service to send information that is obscene, pornographic, offensive or threatening, or which may infringe any rights of a third party or any law, regulation or requirement of a government body. You agree to indemnify VSO against all liabilities, claims and expenses that may arise out of or in connection with a breach by you of these terms.
- VSO reserves the right to suspend or terminate any person's access to the Service or to edit any information submitted if, in VSO's absolute discretion, that person is using the Service for purposes other than those outlined in (1) above, or in breach of these terms. Suspension or termination of your access will not entitle you to a refund of the donation you may have made when joining RVs Connected.
