School Action programme

If you’re an education professional the Active Communities Team can support you to bring a global dimension into the classroom by developing understanding of global issues and skills for action in your students and colleagues.
Whether you want help with a one-off assembly, ideas for bringing global issues alive in your lesson plans, or inspiration for starting a weekly global citizenship club, we’re here to help. Why not start by reading the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority's (QCA) booklet The Global Dimension in Action and then fill in our inspiration form with your ideas to help us offer you the most suitable support and advice.
If you’d like a bigger challenge or want to have an even greater impact - then why not consider undertaking a project with your whole school. We’re proud to be a partner in the DFID funded Global School Partnerships programme where you can set up a partnership between your school and one in a developing country.
We can also support you to create your very own project with grants and school-specific trainings which take place across the country. Just fill in our simple inspiration form and we’ll let you know what’s most suitable for you.
You can also contact us with any questions at active.communities@vso.org.uk
