Hold your Own Event

Thank you for thinking of raising money to save lives and fight poverty with VSO.

Fundraising for VSO is a fun and rewarding experience. To make your life easier, we have a dedicated Student fundraising team to support you every step of the way. Whether you chose a high energy sponsored event or your own personal fundraising activity, you will be sure to have a great time. You can really make a difference to help us fight global poverty.

Be creative

Thinking about doing something but struggling for ideas? Why not take a pre-existing event and turn it into a fundraiser? A fundraising night at a local club, a pub quiz, a comedy night, film night, a fancy dress day or music event? Hold a cake sale or do a dare to make a difference? We've got lots of ideas stored up, so take a look at our ideas list for inspiration. You can also download our fundraising toolkit at the bottom of the page to get you started.

Whatever you decide to do, help here for you every step of the way. Our dedicated fundraising team is committed to ensuring your event is the best it can be, as fun as it can be and as easy as it can be to organise.

Photos

Whatever you do, don’t forget to take photos. With your agreement, we'll be splashing them all over Facebook and our website to showcase our wonderful fundraisers and encourage others to get involved. We're proud of you and want to shout out about the great work you’re doing in aid of charity.

How your money could help...

In Africa, 90% of people living with HIV and AIDS are cared for in their home.

£6 - could buy uniforms for care-givers to ensure they receive the recognition they deserve within communities and demonstrate the value placed on the services they deliver. Each VSO partner has on average 1,000 volunteer care-givers.

£30 - could replenish a Home-Base-Care kit for 3 months benefitting a total of 360 people.

£90 - could buy a bicycle which would provide transportation for each care giver to reach remote patients who are often most at risk. Each care giver sees an average of 15 patients per week
