Overseas challenges with Student Adventures
Ever dreamt of climbing to Everest Base Camp? Think you’ve got what it takes to win a European Car Rally?
VSO has teamed up with charity challenge company, Student Adventures, to offer you two incredible experiences of a lifetime. We’re offering expeditions to Everest Base Camp and a European Car Rally to Bratislava – Bratislava or Bust – in summer 2012.
Student Adventures gives you the opportunity to experience the true meaning of adventure pushing yourself to achieve and taking in some of the most incredible sights the world has to offer. Student Adventures has also been designed and tailored with students in mind so that your adventure needn't break the bank.
Whichever adventure you choose, taking part in a challenge in aid of VSO will give you a unique opportunity to push your boundaries, support VSO and build your CV at the same time – a great way to spend some of your summer! Find out more about our challenges below or sign up now for a place.
Everest Base Camp
Trekking to Everest Base Camp is one of the most exciting and exhilarating treks you'll do. Standing at 5,360m, Base Camp is the gateway for those who set their sights on the top of the world and on a spiritual adventure. You'll experience spectacular panoramic views, dramatic mountain scenery and will be left speechless from this awe-inspiring and breath-taking trek to Everest Base Camp. This outstanding trek to the base camp will take you through the lush valleys of Sagarmatha National Park with time to explore its villages and majestic monasteries, the Namache Bazaar. You'll also visit Kathmandu and be able to take in its culture and vibrancy.
Our 11-day trek will take place in summer 2012 and the fundraising target is £2,350.

Bratislava or Bust Car Rally
Adventurers! Your destination is Bratislava or Bust. The adventure this year will start in Kent where you, your friends and vehicle of your choice will report for three or five days of a fun-filled adventure, which will see you wind your way through France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Slovakia.
This is no ordinary adventure, along the way you will be set a series of daily challenges delivered by our man in the white coat. It will test your ingenuity, map reading skills and your ability to barter and negotiate in a foreign language. Master the art of the challenges and you will be rewarded with riches and glory.
The seven-day rally will take place in August 2012 and the fundraising target is £100.
