Glasgow
The Glasgow group meets on a monthly basis at the Arches Cafe on Argyle Street, under Central station Railway Bridge. We usually meet around 6pm to plan events, share our experiences from overseas and meet those interested in volunteering in the future. If you are interested in joining us please email to find out when we are next getting together.
The Glasgow Supporter Group exists to support the activities of VSO within our local community. We are involved in fundraising, volunteer recruitment, development education and volunteer support activities, as well as some social events.
We come together to provide advice and support for:
People living around Glasgow who are considering international volunteering, already serving and returned volunteers
Volunteer recruitment – promoting VSO's work and raising the profile locally through media activities, fundraising or sponsoring a volunteer overseas
Developing community action projects and working with disadvantaged groups
International development – through raising awareness of issues affecting people in developing countries and campaigning on issues we support
The Glasgow Supporters Group is a great way to meet new, like minded people and an ideal opportunity to learn more about international development and what it’s like to live and work overseas. It’s also a great way to get involved and encourage action within your local community.
Everybody’s welcome
You don't have to be a volunteer or a returned volunteer to join our supporter group. If you would like to find out more please contact the group Chairs, Keira McCann on 07866240228 or by emailing vsoglasgow@yahoo.com
