As a charity we have a number of guaranteed places for those who want to take up the challenge and raise funds on our behalf. The money that you raise will go towards our work over 40 of the world's poorest countries where our volunteers make a lasting contribution in the fight against poverty.

What is involved?

Beginning in St. James’s Park, the race takes runners through some of London’s most famous and beautiful sights including Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye. You can either run or walk the 10,000 kilometres route.

Your training for the race should begin as soon as possible so that you are fully prepared for the big day. We will be on hand to offer you all the support and advice you need in order to make the task a little bit easier.

How much do I have to raise?

We ask you raise £200 and an initial £30 non-refundable registration fee. We’ll be on hand to provide all the support you need. You’ll also get:

  • a fundraising pack

  • a training programme

  • a VSO running T-shirt

  • support in your preparation for the challenge

  • a crowd of VSO supporters to cheer you on the big day.

Where does the money go?

The money that you raise will go towards our work in over 40 of the world's poorest countries where our volunteers make a lasting contribution in the fight against poverty.
