VSO 24 Peaks Challenge 2011

One crazy weekend.
Two dozen natural highs.

VSO’s 24 Peaks Challenge is a team challenge set amongst the breathtaking vistas of the Lake District. Your team will climb 24 peaks, all over 2,400 feet,  in 24 hours. You’ll need to be physically fit, but more than that you’ll need determination, self-belief and above all team spirit to get you to the finish line.

The course is 32.5 miles long and includes Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England. Over two days (your goal is 14 hours on Saturday and 10 hours on Sunday) you’ll take in some of the most stunning countryside in Cumbria, including rivers, moorland, farms and forest.

Challenge yourself and change lives

So, why put yourself through it? For a start, there’s the immense sense of achievement you’ll feel standing at the top of the final mountain. But even more importantly, you’ll have helped more than a generation of girls receive the education they deserve.

More than 500,000 Ghanaian girls are excluded from school. The money you raise will help get them in class, and make sure they receive quality teaching while they’re there. You’re giving them more than just an education; you’re giving them a future.

The ultimate corporate team-building exercise

If you’re looking for a corporate outing to weld your team into a well-oiled machine, this is it. The intensity of the weekend forges a strong camaraderie between participants, and helps them appreciate each other’s strengths. The course demands mental toughness as much as it does physical fitness - you don’t need to be an elite athlete to take part. We run training weekends to help you make sure you’re prepared.

Registration just £100 per team

The entrance fee for each team is £100. Teams have five members walking plus one support crew, so that works out at just £16 each. There’s a fundraising target of £4,500 per team.
