Should I Stay or Should I Go? Choices for Migrant Health Workers in the UK

With only 3% of all global health workers, but 25% of the global burden of disease, Africa is suffering from a severe shortage of health workers.

In some countries where VSO works, there are as few as two doctors for every 100,000 of the population. Despite this, the World Health Organisation estimates that around 23% of doctors trained in Africa are working in countries that are a part of the organisation for economic co-operation development, including the UK.

To coincide with the launch of new VSO research on health worker migration, join leading practitioners and thinkers to discuss how circular migration could help stem the brain drain from Africa.
