Global Xchange: In Depth
Community Action Days
As well as working in voluntary placements with your counterpart for four days a week, you and your team will also come together to do larger-scale community projects to involve other people. Some teams do one or two large scale CADs per phase, while others will do smaller ones on a more regular basis.
These Community Action Days (CADs) are an opportunity for your whole team to get together during the week and work on a big project or task where many pairs of hands are needed. Often a local organisation will approach your team and ask them to participate in a CAD.
Past examples have included cultural and global education days for local schools, community cleanups, Development Awareness Days, or fundraising with a local charity.
