Global Xchange: In Depth
Global Citizenship Days
As well as spending four days of each week on your Volunteer Placement, on the fifth day you will come together as a team for an Global Citizenship Day (GCD).
GCDs are usually held on a Wednesday or a Friday, and they are an opportunity for you and your team to engage in active learning about community development issues in the UK and in your exchange country. Each week the sessions are run by different home counterpart pairs, so you will normally be asked to run two GCDs during the six-month programme.
Topics in many ways are up to you, but they should link to the Global Citizenship Framework (GCF). For more information on the GCF see the section on Learning about Global Citizenshp. In the past GCDs have ranged from Fair Trade, Education, Climate Change, to Debt.
