A success story about our education work in the rural district of Masindi

Since universal primary education was introduced in Uganda in 1997 the number of pupils has increased from 2.5 million to 7 million across the country as a whole.

Taking a long term approach to volunteering

The story of VSO Uganda's work with KIDADE (a non-governmental organisation supporting agricultural communities) shows how a succession of volunteers working with a partner organisation over a number of years can help bring about lasting change. It is a good example of how a long term view with a range of different types of volunteer can make a real difference.
