VSO - Sharing Skills, Changing Lives

    Social development jobs

Welcome to our volunteer recruitment pages. On the following pages you will find everything you need to know about volunteering with VSO, including information about the type of skills and qualifications we require and examples of positions that may be in need of your skills. We have provided an easy step-by-step guide to help you decide whether a VSO volunteer job is right for you.

    About VSO

VSO is an international development charity that works through volunteers. Our vision is a world without poverty in which people work together to fulfil their potential. Our volunteers help tackle disadvantage in some of the world's poorest countries, bringing people together to share skills, creativity and learning to build a fairer world.

    VSO and social development

Experienced social and community work professionals can have a great impact on the social welfare provision in poor communities. Social welfare institutions in the developing world are often poorly resourced, suffering from severe shortages of sufficiently trained staff and managers. Inevitably it is the most disadvantaged people in society who suffer most. You could provide the social, community and management skills that are essential to reduce disparities and improve standards of care.
