Volunteer in St Helena or Montserrat
DFID Overseas Territories Department and VSO are recruiting to volunteer roles available now on the islands of St. Helena, in the South Atlantic and Montserrat, in the Caribbean Sea.
These islands face similar challenges: with limited economic opportunities, many inhabitants to leave in search of work. Development efforts are vital to create opportunities for people to stay. However, recruiting the skills needed to help can be difficult. The DFID VSO volunteer roles will support the governments of St Helena and Montserrat to create a brighter future for their islands.
Volunteer roles
VSO are now recruiting volunteers on behalf of DFID for specific volunteer roles in the British overseas territories of St. Helena and Montserrat. These roles give you the chance to contribute to the future of two fascinating islands, and offer unique professional and personal development.
Roles in St. Helena
St. Helena is a tiny island in the South Atlantic, just 10.5 miles long and 6.5 miles wide, and is one of the most remote settled islands in the world. Its spectacular landscapes, geological structures and steep, rocky terrain are a legacy of its volcanic origins. There are two National Parks which are fantastic for hiking, walking and photography.
We are currently recruiting:
Radiographer to depart in late June 2011. Read the terms of reference in the document below. Apply by 31st March 2011, quoting ref: DFID-RD1
