VSO provides individuals with an alternative way to take a career break whilst helping to make a difference in the world’s poorest countries.

For over 50 years, VSO has connected skilled professionals with organisations based in the communities where help is most needed.

With VSO, professionals from a range of backgrounds can utilize their skills in a rewarding way while travelling overseas.

The primary areas of VSO’s work include education, health, HIV and AIDS, disability, secure livelihoods and participation and governance. 
 
All of our placements are strategically develop for maximum local impact as well as global awareness.

Your career break can fit in with VSO placements. Most VSO volunteer posts are from one to two years although short term volunteer opportunities of six months are also available.
