Charity Volunteer Work
Volunteer work is as critical to successful sustainable development as any monetary donations. Support from volunteers enables some of the poorest people in the world to get human assistance and personal attention.
VSO delivers volunteering programmes in 42 of the world’s poorest countries. VSO works through volunteers to support local organisations and communities to have better access to public services such as health care and education, generate a sustained income or have more influence on decisions that impact them. We also work to give marginalised groups such as women, disabled people and those with HIV and AIDS to give them equal rights.
VSO volunteers, have their living expenses covered. Other benefits include the opportunity for a life-changing experience, the opportunity to travel and be immersed in a new culture, and an excellent addition to their résumé. Most of all, serving as a VSO volunteer gives each one the opportunity to help lessen poverty and, in a small way, to change the world.
