With VSO you can work in any of more than 40 countries like hundreds of others have done before you. VSO has opportunities for:
long-term volunteers, or qualified professionals with at least 2 years post-qualification experience in their profession willing to commit to 1-2 years;
short-term volunteers, who need at least 5 years post-qualification experience, and commit to 6 months or less;
youth volunteers, aged 18-25, through VSO's Youth for Development and Global Xchange schemes.
Candidates applying for jobs abroad with VSO must be prepared to go on assignment within one year of applying.
Applicants understand they will be working for a modest allowance and living in conditions similar to those that local colleagues are living in. Volunteers accepting an assignment are encouraged to learn at least some of the languages of the local people.
