Global Skills Share

Global Skills Share is a joint Randstad Education and VSO initiative, which allows primary teachers to share their skills in poorer countries and help make education for all children a reality.

Randstad Education is giving teachers the opportunity to volunteer for three months in Ghana in September 2011, January 2012 and May 2012, by providing three months' supply cover to the applicant's school free of charge.

Who can take part?

Global Skills Share is only available to teachers who hold a permanent position within a primary school in England and Wales, who are qualified primary teachers with at least three years' experience.

How to apply

The first deadline for applying to volunteer via the Global Skills Share initiative is 11 April. You can begin your application applying now

Terms and Conditions

  • All applications will be subject to VSO's standard assessment and selection process and will operate according to VSO's standard terms and conditions

  • Teachers must provide written consent from their schools agreeing to the individual undertaking a placement, prior to attending the VSO assessment day. We will not be able to progress any applications without this consent

  • Randstad Education sponsorship is available to three teachers and will involve Randstad Education providing supply cover to those teachers' schools free of charge for three months

  • If you do not meet the criteria for this particular scheme, you can still apply to VSO at any time outside the Global Skills Share programme. You do not need to mention Global Skills Share when applying. Please select Randstad on page 2 of the registration form, so we know you are applying as a result of this promotion
