Volunteer Work in Bangladesh

Today there are many opportunities for a professional to pass on their skills in countries such as Bangladesh. Volunteering in Bangladesh is sure to bring great satisfaction to a professional wishing to share their skills with others. One very common approach to volunteering in foreign countries is to join an international volunteering project.

VSOs volunteering programmes are based on providing sustained results in areas that are most needed in each of the countries where we work. Our work in Bangladesh focuses on working to strengthen local agencies that are concerned with the rights and participation in society of rural, marginalised and vulnerable groups of people; in particular women, indigenous peoples and people living with HIV and AIDS.

Volunteers work with local organisations to become more effective at involving local communities in accessing local government structures and being actively involved in decisions that impact their lives. Volunteers are also working to support organisations to improve awareness of prevention, treatment and care of HIV and AIDS as well as advocacy for vulnerable groups such as female sex workers, males who have sex with males and drug users.
