Volunteer Work in Cameroon

The goals of VSO in Cameroon centre mainly on education, participation and governance, and HIV and AIDS.

VSO education volunteers are currently working in Cameroon to help promote teacher training and encouraging students, especially girls, to stay in school. We work with locally trained teachers to help improve the quality of school management as well as the quality of education provided to all school aged children.

VSO volunteers work with local governments to help people become more involved in the decisions made in their community. In these efforts we are attempting to create a more equal environment for all and allow participation by all members of the community.

Cameroon also has a large number of people with HIV and AIDS. VSO volunteers work at community level to provide care and support to people living with HIV and AIDS.
