Volunteer Work in India
Approximately 1.2 billion people live in India and 42% of this population earns below the World Bank's international poverty level of $1.25 per day.
VSO's work in India focuses on HIV and AIDS, Disability and Participation and governance.
Approximately 5 million women, men and children are living with HIV and AIDS, the highest figure in the world. The fear of discrimination continues to spread HIV as people avoid diagnosis, disclosure or medical care.
VSO volunteers work with agencies to raise awareness, advocate for rights, and provide critical medical care for people living with HIV and AIDS.
