Volunteering in Indonesia with VSO

Levels of poverty in Indonesia vary from region to region. Despite earning an income above the national income poverty rate of $1.55 a day, some people may not have access to basic services.
The VSO Indonesia programme is focused on the regions of South Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
VSO volunteers are working in the areas of secure livelihoods and disability. Currently, we are exploring if we can work in the area of HIV and AIDS.
Our volunteers also support civil society agencies to encourage more appropriate agricultural and fishing practices; working with organisations to strengthen their strategies and systems for managing resources, and further training local communities to participate in decision making.
VSO works through volunteers to deliver economic empowerment; supporting people with disabilities to find employment and through this, gain independence.
