Volunteer work in Laos

The VSO programme in Laos has been operating through CUSO-VSO since 1987, working primarily on community-based natural resource management and rural livelihoods.

The volunteer programme in Laos focuses on strengthening and enriching rural life, as well as providing educational opportunities for the citizens of Laos.

Volunteers work primarily in the agricultural sector, where they streamline agricultural practices, promote sustainable use of natural resources, and increase the nutritional and economic output of the agricultural industry. To improve the daily nutrition of those living in poverty, VSO promotes the production of organic foods as well as community access to land and water resources.

Currently only volunteers recruited through CUSO-VSO in Canada are able to participate in this programme.
