VSO seeks an experienced Business Pursuit Lead to advance our mission through strategic engagement with European Government Agencies, with a special focus on the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NL MFA), the European Union (EU), and their key implementing partners in priority countries. In this crucial role, you will lead VSO’s efforts to secure and expand program funding from European government donors, positioning VSO as a partner of choice, resulting in the negotiation and acquisition of significant grant awards.

Location: Myanmar

The communication specialist will work with VSO's Education Programme to assist communication strategy in child-centered teaching and the development of learning-based resources. S/he will be responsible for delivering effective, visual, on-brand, and strategy creative for social media graphics, as well as collaborating with the VSO education team to coordinate and lead a wide range of communication-related activities across digital and offline media at the same time supporting local volunteer groups and CSO(s). Consultancy - Consultancy of an Organic Waste Specialist

Location: Kenya  |  Part Time

Objectives of the assignment:


a. Organic Waste Markets, Products, and Customers

b. VSO Organic Waste Intervention Strategy

Deliverables:


a)   Production of market evaluation report evaluating the market potential for organic waste products, considering factors such as demand, competition, pricing, market trends, market dynamics, and consumer preferences, aiming to identify opportunities for product development and market penetration.

b)   Product identification and scoping report detailing scope of products derived from organic waste, with a particular emphasis on three clusters: organic manure, animal feeds, and compost-based soil amendments. With clear recommendations on the feasibility and market demand for these products in the three W2W Counties.

c)    Documentation on standards, regulations, and policies for organic waste management outlining the current standards, regulations, and policies related to organic waste management in the three target W2W Counties. Including recommendations for W2W primary actors on how to comply with existing standards and influence policies.

d)   Development of W2W Organic Waste Strategy with workable solutions and indicators to measure impact, strategies to build markets, and partnerships.  

e)   Development of a comprehensive training manual and conducting Training of Trainers program for implementing project team to enhance their capacity in organic waste management.
