Global Xchange
Global Xchange puts young people at the centre of efforts to combat poverty and inequality, by giving them a chance to join other young people to work on important projects in developing countries. There are two programmes to choose from; both designed to harness the skills and energy that young people have, and to use it in an effective and useful way. Our programmes are called Youth Xchange and Youth Action.
Global Xchange is run by VSO and the British Council and is now part of the International Citizen Service (ICS), a new global volunteering programme launched by the Prime Minister and funded by the Department for International Development (DfID). VSO is one of six organisations offering ICS programmes, for more information visit www.dfid.gov.uk/ics
Youth Action
The Youth Action ICS programmes is a 12-week project in a community overseas and gives young people the chance to work on projects tackling important issues. As a participant, you will be working in a community organisation on issues that matter.
Youth Xchange
Youth Xchange is a 6 month opportunity, with 12 weeks spent working overseas and 12 weeks spent in the UK. The Youth Xchange programme gives young people the opportunity to work on projects tackling important issues, making an impact overseas as well as back on home soil.
