Job Description
  • Planning, implementing, evaluating and improving the quality of nursing care for a maternity ward.
  • Supervision of ward management and administration.
  • Responsible for training and supervision in obstetrics cases including ante-natal, post-natal and neo-natal care.
  • Provide leadership and direction to midwives and other nursing personnel.
  • Monitoring, supervising & training midwives and staff on clinical rotation and duties.

Requirements
Essential
  • Qualified midwife or Obs/Gynae nurse
  • Minimum five years experience in a hospital setting
  • Experience managing & training staff – nurses & midwives
  • Experience developing & delivering care plans
  • Good communication skills
Desirable
  • Experience in tropical medicine
Start date and Duration
May 2008, 6 months.
