VSO Cambodia’s Reproductive and Child Health programme works in partnership with hospitals and health centres in four rural provinces of Cambodia to strengthen the knowledge and skills of doctors, nurses, midwives and health managers.

During 2008 – 2012 our programme is seeking Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for short-term placements of two – three months to provide on-the-job training and coaching to Cambodian doctors particularly in taking patient histories, examination, diagnosis and treatment and surgery.

• Specialist knowledge and experience in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology
• Recent relevant surgical experience
• Experience of coaching and training other doctors

• Experience of HIV/AIDS services, e.g. Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission
• Previous experience of working in a hospital in a developing country
• Flexibility and patience
• Ability to adapt to the local hospital environment and work in a resource constrained environment
