RWM was initiated in 1998 in KwaZulu Natal and was officially launched in 2000. It grew out of the need to address gender inequalities in a post-Apartheid South Africa and works to enable women to access, own, control, use, and manage land and natural resources in their own right. The network works predominantly with indigenous, poor, rural landless women and is made up of over 500 women’s community-based organisations with a total membership of over 35,000 women. Their ages range from 16 to 78 years of age.

The ICT Training Officer would support

• Implementation of the ICT Program:
• Training of at least 50 Trainers of Trainers (TOTs)
• Training on development of website
• Updating the RWM website
• Development of email addresses
• Help RWM to develop a Training Manual
• Produce 3-monthly newsletters

• Sound knowledge in developing and implementing ICT strategies
• Trouble shooting & maintenance of work stations for staff
• Training for staff on website development
• Dedicated to work with groups of women who did not have an opportunity to get formal education
• Willing to work under harsh conditions in the rural areas
• Acknowledges diversity
• Sensitive to the situation of rural women
