About VSO
VSO is an international development charity that works through volunteers. Our vision is a world without poverty in which people work together to fulfil their potential. Our volunteers help tackle disadvantage in some of the world's poorest countries, bringing people together to share skills, creativity and learning to build a fairer world.
VSO and technical development
Many of the world’s poorest countries are unable to develop the infrastructure that they so desperately need. Improved transportation networks and maintenance of healthcare facilities can make a real difference in the everyday lives of disadvantaged people. VSO volunteers work with local communities and governments to share knowledge and improve education in vital technical skills such as engineering and vocational trades.
