Volunteering

Natural Resources

One aspect of VSO’s work aims to help disadvantaged people make a viable living.

Volunteers contributing to this goal come from a variety of backgrounds. These include natural resource management, the environmental sector, water and fisheries conservation, irrigation and agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry.

What can you do?

You could be working with communities in The Philippines, helping to address the causes of environmental degradation. Your skills could help a cooperative of Tanzanian farmers increase their crop yields and develop market channels. Maybe you’d be better suited to a more hands-on role, such as developing and nurturing a self-sustaining farm in Zambia or teaching botany in a technical college in Eritrea.

To find out more about the kinds of projects you could be involved in and the lives you could be changing, click on the job title below that best suits your area of expertise. Alternatively call us on 0208 780 7500 or complete an initial application form.
