STEP ONE: Search for opportunities > Environmentalist
We have opportunities for volunteers working across a range of environment and eco-tourism professions. We are looking for environmental advisors with experience in areas such as ecology and natural resource management. We also have an increasing demand for eco-tourism advisors. See our eco-tourism advisors page for more detailed information on these jobs.
Necessary qualifications and experience
Most jobs for environmentalists would require a minimum of a degree in a relevant subject and two years related work experience. Eco-tourism posts require a degree in eco-tourism, ecology or conservation and two years related work experience.
Types of opportunity available
Environmental opportunities involve working with a community to take a holistic approach to sustainable natural resource management. Volunteers work with local communities to help develop strategies for initiatives that are sensitive to both the local environment and people's culture. They then work alongside local people to implement them.
