We urgently need experienced managers to work with organisations in developing communities. As a management volunteer with VSO you could be working alongside colleagues in human rights NGOs, HIV and AIDS charities or farmers associations to name a few. You'll share your management skills and build their capacity to help them improve the vital services they provide to their communities.
Right now VSO has more than a hundred urgent requests from organisations in 26 countries across Africa and Asia for volunteers with business and general management skills. If you are looking for a new challenge and want to make a real difference in some of the world's most disadvantaged communities, apply now. Most placements start in autumn this year, or early 2009, so there's not time to waste.
We're looking for people with 3 years' + experience in a mid to senior management role. Your management experience can be in any sector, as long as it includes the following transferable skills:
staff training, leadership and motivation
team or company strategy/planning
budget control
monitoring and evaluation systems
management and administrative systems
managing change
communications.

Monitoring & Evaluation Technical Support Officer - Nigeria You will use your excellent knowledge of Management Information and Evaluation Systems (MIES) to review and develop the MIES of EVA, a youth-led organisation that works through schools to combat AIDS in Nigeria. You will train your colleagues in the use of MIES.
Management Adviser - Malawi The District AIDS Coordination Committee aims to alleviate the impact and spread of HIV and AIDS in Malawi, where one in ten of the population are HIV positive. As a volunteer with organisational development and strategic planning skills you'll help them manage their vital programmes more effectively.
Management Adviser - Ethiopia Working with the Hiwot HIV and AIDS Prevention, Care and Support Organisation you'll build the confidence and management skills of staff, ensuring that the organisation can grow sustainably and provide vital support to their community.
Organisational Development Adviser - India Manthan is a non-governmental organisation working to improve inclusion and human rights at a community level.
