As a volunteer pharmacist with VSO, living and working alongside local people and organisations, you will playing a key role in supporting the provision of healthcare in countries such as Uganda and the Maldives.
Necessary qualifications and experience
You must be a registered pharmacist with a minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience. This could be hospital or community-based.
Types of opportunity available
Pharmacists are usually involved in advising colleagues and devising courses in an academic context such as a college or training centre. A smaller number of jobs may be based in a hospital/health centre pharmacies, possibly including visits to outlying clinics. These roles are likely to involve training and supervising the work of local staff both centrally and in peripheral health centres.
