Who can apply

Anyone aged 18 – 25 at the closing deadline of 7th January 2009.
Anyone living in the UK or Republic of Ireland. You can hold passports from other countries but they must have the right to live / study / work in the UK or Republic of Ireland.
Anyone with at least one year’s relevant paid or voluntary work experience.
Anyone committed to fundraising at least £900, with VSO’s support.
Anyone committed to completing a global education project during their placement. This project aims to raise awareness of global issues, challenge stereotypes and promote international understanding.

Youth for Development aims to reflect the diversity of UK society, in geographical, social and ethnic background and gender. We welcome applications from young people who have a disability.

I always wanted to work in development but the placement was a vital first step in giving me relevant experience.
