Youth volunteering

If you are aged 18-25, there are two opportunities for you to volunteer with VSO.
Global Xchange
Under the Youth Xchange programme, you'll be partnered with a young person from a developing country to form part of a team. You'll live and work together over six months. You'll work on community projects in the UK for three months and a developing country for three months. The projects are varied and could include working in education, HIV and AIDS, awareness raising or restoration and conservation.

Youth for Development
Youth for Development (YfD) volunteers work on a project in a developing country for 12 months. You'll live and work with a community and could be involved in a wide variety of projects. Example projects include working to support children’s education, HIV and AIDS programmes, or contributing to organisational development through research and advocacy.
